So we got an album, a drink and tons of monkeys getting spanked. Nah, just kidding. I dont have a drink with me. Let us see what this new album of a certain artist that goes by the name Jason Mraz has in store for us. The title itself introduces us to a very original title. Mr A-Z. I kept reading that as Mister Azz, but i think its pronounced Mister A to Z. Yah, the title is catchy (though less catchy then ass) if i say so myself and i just did.

Jason Mraz. An enigma. To describe in him a word is simple: a geek. Yes, he’s a geek, pure and simple. A geek that can wind any woman around his finger. How? Simple. Instead of singing about how gorgeous a girl is, instead he writes and sings about life and how wonderful it is when that girl is in it. He centers it around reasons instead of the superficial. A geek with the power of love and life. Gosh and i hear he’s even popular. In short: he’s a geek we geeks wish we could be. Amen and yah im ranting. Dont forget the disclaimer btw.

To get back on track. Mraz writes songs about love and all the things of life. The song “Life Is Wonderful” is a song about the latter with a hint of love. A simple song about how wonderful life is and though unimpressive at first glance, its a nice song to listen to when you’re high or wasted. Simple, almost laughable lyrics yet interesting ones aswell. Sentences like “It takes no time to fall in love” and “But it takes you years to know what love is” go abit deeper but all in all, i think he wrote this song being happy and intoxicated.

Somehow Mraz reminds me of a sort of a rapper to me. One of his trademarks is how he blurts out a ton of words in a matter of seconds yet it sounds perfect and not fast at all. He’s the kind of guy that writes an overlong sentence yet is able to make it sound like its shorter. God, he must be a godsent for writers that dont want to cut down on words in lyrics. “Wordplay”, is one of those songs. A cannon of words flow into a song with a nice relaxing beat. This song is yet another “happy” song about , well i dunno, wordplay? A gimmick which the song itself is too. I like it for it sounds catchy but its nothing special.

Now, could it be any more obvious that he actually made a self titled song? Yes, “Geek in the Pink”, who else could it be. Imagine Mraz doing the macarena, dressed in a pink dress and singing YMCA. Yes, the geek in the pink, Mraz. Dont worry though, i dont think he’s gay, just feminine. This song is a good one, thats for sure. Its a song about well dunno a girl that treats him badly and about could haves and would haves. Song has really smart and funny sentences like “Who wouldn't care if you com...plete him or not” and “All y'all geek is the new color for fall”. Last one actually made me feel hopeful, coz its almost fall and yah it sucks, but im a geek too :p.

Wow, relaxing, calm and lounging music is all this guy makes isnt it? Yeah, it is and once used to it you can really vibe the moment listening to Mraz MusiC. But sometimes his music flavour makes me go crazy. But “Did You Get My Message” , has all of that. Simple, relaxed , catchy and yeah innocent and pure sentences like “Do you ever wonder what happens to the words that we send”. Guess it’s odd that he would sing that as i would have gotten the hint if someone says; did you get my message to me a thousand times :p.

WAIT. Stop the press. What is it you say? I.........notice this song is different. And wait a minute. I love this song. Might be because it sounds more or less acoustic and is just Mraz singing with, yeah a frickin piano, and i love songs with just piano as an instrument! And the words he sings softly as he plays the piano with full emotion, are wonderful.
I'm looking for love this time
Sounding hopeful but it's making me cry
(Trying not to ask why)
This love is a mystery
Mr. Curious...
Yes, these words may touch my soul. Its just amazing. This entire song moves me and takes me away. Dont we all have hope that could just very well be false hope. But hope gives us strenght. And knowing that its false, well that doesnt matter but it can make you cry from time to time.

Love is blinding when your timing's never right
Oh but who am I to beg for difference
Finding love in a distant instant
But I don't mind
Oh love at least I tried, well I tried...

Things dont always go as geeks like me hope it would and these words you just read fits that feeling perfectly :D. An outstanding song.

Not really in the mood to check out each song in full but “Clockwatching” and “Bella Donna” dont appeal to me at all. So hit the next button twice now. Teeheehee.

Another piano song, but sung with a more nagging voice then it should. As if he was having an endless orgasm in between. So that drags down the song a bit. “Plane” is a song about love and having to leave but not wanting to. Using the saddest word one can use in love: “if”. Btw remember the disclaimer!

Abit more active song and rather cool lounge song is “O. Lover”

You are the sweetest thing I've found since whenever,
You're the only way my time is measured.

Think that says it all. And yet it doesnt. Its about wanting and wanting that love from someone thats denying,....

Said if I didn't know,
and if I didn't know,
well if I didn't know that you loved me would you tell me?
Well God only knows our contradiction's to quitting, is a hate to love relationship thing.

Odd song. Thats all. Sing along with the guilt and so called love it pretends to want.

But it won't be the last romance cause when the weekend starts the guilty party's on.

“Please dont tell me”. Nice song, insane lyrics.

Please don't tell her that I miss her
Because I don't

Because I'm crazy like the rest of us
And I'm crazier when I'm next to her

Those words i can relate to haha, so thumbs up for this song :p. Yell along with those words as the chorus and its all good.

“Forecast” and “Song For A Friend” are nice songs to end this album with. I think they rank the highest along with “Mr. Curiosity”. Do i need to say more? Yes? Blah well i wont. This review is taking too much time as it is already and its already too much text.

Verdict: Uneven album with great songs and unappealing songs, but if you give it a go then all the songs will grow on you, especially when you are under influence of something ;). Go MISTA ASS! YOU ROCK!

And if them rains should fall for sure with you I'll be

Blog Steal of the Day

Couldnt resist. Luc and me just like certain quotes we found. So thanks to the blog person for this :p.

True love never lives happily ever after - true love has no ending...

You never lose by loving. You always lose by holding back...

One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: that word is love...

Love is like a butterfly, hold it too tight, it'll crush, hold it too loose, it'll fly...

There is no remedy for love but to love more...

Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because when it sees more it is willing to see less...

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world...

Friendship doubles your joys, and divides your sorrows...

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart...

A friend is like a four leaf clover, hard to find but lucky to have...

A friend is someone who walks in when the whole world has walked out...

Side by side or miles apart, good friends are always close to the heart...

Love is not finding someone you acn live with, but finding someone you cannot live without...

I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am, when I am with you.

No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to. Remember. whatever happens, happens for a reason.

Quotes. Of. Today.

Joke Of The Day

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so
much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have
never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE: One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into
bed.

Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says "I don't feel
like it, I just want you to hold me."

I said "WHAT??!! What was that?!"

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear...
"You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me
to satisfy your physical needs as a man." She responded to my puzzled look
by saying, "Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in
the bedroom?"

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with
her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big
unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on
several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to
take so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to
compliment her new clothes, so I said lets get a pair for each outfit. We
went onto the jewelry department where she picked out a pair of diamond
earrings. Let me tell you...she was so excited. She must have thought I was
one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because
she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play
tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey."
She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement.
Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all
dear, let's go to the cashier."

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel
like it."

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled
WHAT?"

I then said "honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're
just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy
your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she
was going to kill me, I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and
not for the things I buy you?"

Useless news of the day

Blink and you really do 'miss it'
Eye
We blink 10 to 15 times each minute
Parts of the brain are temporarily "switched off" when we blink, scientists have found.

The team from University College London found the brain shut down parts of the visual system for each blink.

Writing in Current Biology, they said this was the case even if light was still entering the eyes.

The researchers said this could explain why people do not notice their own blinking, as it gave us an "uninterrupted view of the world".

A blink lasts for between 100 and 150 milliseconds. We automatically blink 10 to 15 times a minute to moisten and oxygenate the cornea.

During a blink, there is no visual input and no light, but we do not consciously recognise everything has momentarily gone dark.

The UCL team set out to discover why humans are not disturbed by these "mini blackouts".

The study used a specially-designed device to assess the effects of blinking on the brain.

'World goes dark'

The device, made with fibre optic cable, was placed in the mouths of volunteers who were wearing light proof goggles and lying in a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) brain scanner.

Optic test
The device used in the test lights up eyes through the mouth

The optical fibre lit up the eyeballs through the roof of the mouth using a strong light - making the head glow red.

This meant that the light falling on the retina in the eye remained constant even when the participants blinked.

The scientists were then able to measure the effects of blinking on brain activity independently of the effect of eyelid closure on light entering the eye.

They found that blinking suppressed brain activity in the visual cortex and other areas of the brain - known as parietal and prefrontal - which are usually activated when people become conscious of visual events or objects in the outside world.

Davina Bristow, from UCL's Institute of Neurology, who led the research, said: "We would immediately notice if the outside world suddenly went dark, especially if it was happening every few seconds.

"But we are rarely aware of our blinks, even though they cause a similar reduction in the amount of light entering the eye, and this gives us an uninterrupted view of the world."

She added: "Transiently suppressing the brain areas involved in visual awareness during blinks may be a neural mechanism for preventing the brain from becoming aware of the eyelid sweeping down over the pupil during a blink and the world going dark."

SOTD 25/07

Just three miles from the rest stop and she slams on the breaks.

She said: "I tried to be, but I'm not. So could you please collect your things? Well I don't wanna be cold, I don't wanna be cruel, but I gotta find more than what's happening with you. And if you'd open up the door..."

She said: "While you were sleeping, I was listening to the radio and wondering what you're dreaming, when it came to mind that I didn't care."

And I thought: "Hell if it's over, I had better end it quick or I could lose my nerve"

Are you listening?
Can you hear me?
Have you forgotten?

Just three miles from the rest stop and my mouth's too dry to rage.
The light was shining from the radio, I could barely see her face.

But she knew all the words that I never had said.
She knew the crumpled-up promise of this broken down man and as I opened up the door...

Hello world,

I am new here and that's why I would like to introduce myself. My name is Lucinda
(all together now: hi lucinda) and I'm a 20 year old female from a tiny little country in this huge planet, called The Netherlands. I am born in a city which was known as the city with the biggest harbour in the world, Rotterdam, but since Asia is all hip and stuff, HongKong kicked our ass and we're no longer world's biggest harbour city.

BULLSHIT!

Why am I even introducing myself to all you peeps who only got the url of this page through Dan or me! You all know that we're mentally not 100 percent, but who is anyway. Dan ordered me to make this post so I don't really know what to write about but well, hello. My advice for today is, don't forget to do your daily dance.

And if you want a cool display image as the one next to this post: MeeGos has made it possible. Of course it's a service which I discovered while using your favourite messenger service, MsN, which means you have to pay for using anything which anyone could make. Therefor the golden tip of the day is: Prt Scr. Right. Go find that button on your keyboard.

Well that's enough of advice.
